Carthage Aqueduct

Carthage Aqueduct (Carthage area) — a.k.a. Zaghouan Aqueduct, this was built during the Roman era (either during the rule of Emperor Hadrian or by 162 AD — when the baths of Antonius in Carthage was opened). The water that ran through this aqueduct was sourced from the Djebel Zaghouan, a mountain range about 60 km south of Carthage). This is a popular destination for tour groups who sign on for excursions of Tunisia’s ancient Roman sites.
